As a society, I am very sad to say, we still have a long way to go for women and men to be treated equally. Although there has been some great progress made so far women are still not treated as equals. Women are just as much part of the work force and are â€Å"bread-winners† just like the men. There are women all over the world with very successful careers and some are even powerful boss ladies. So for society to still look at women like they are not equal to men is disgusting. One social change that has been huge for feminists is the presence of women in the work force. In week ten their was an article â€Å"A Woman’s Nation Changes Everything.† In this article they talk about how now more then ever there is a huge increase in the number of women in the work force, women are not the bread winners or co bread winners just like their male counterparts. This is huge for women, half of the work force in the U.S. are women. Compared to even say 20 years ago that is a huge increase. Women are out earning their own and caring for themselves. While there is an increase in the number of women in the work force, they are still not getting paid as much as men. In the Maine Women’s Policy Center it says that women with a bachelors degree make 74 cents for every dollar that a man with the same education makes. So even though they have the same qualifications and education a women will only make 3/4 of what a man makes.
